April 28 – New Internet Service Provider, Coastal Communications, Announces Plans to Launch Fiber Internet on the Islands | Technology & Innovation

April 28, 2022 – Coastal Communications recently announced plans to launch its new fiber optic internet company on Wilmington, Whitemarsh and Talahi Islands, with plans to continue expanding into the Lowcountry. Their goal is to provide truly reliable and affordable fiber internet to residents and business owners on the islands and beyond.

Brendan West, Founder and CEO of Coastal Communications, has been with the company for over a decade, serving in a variety of roles from field supervisor to operations manager. His passion for the industry began when he started in the trenches, laying hundreds of miles of fiber. As a resident of the islands and an expert in the field, he saw an opportunity and a need for change.

“This is an exciting undertaking for me and for our entire community,” said Coastal Communications CEO Brendan West. “Reliable Internet access is essential for businesses and residents alike. It is very evident that our region needs and wants a local and strategic fiber partner to help improve the quality of life and to help the community continue to develop and grow. We are proud to launch Coastal Communications and look forward to seeing it flourish!

Coastal Communications will be the only locally owned and operated fiber back to the originating provider in Savannah. Their motto, “Connecting the coastal empire”.

Coastal Communications has officially opened its pre-registration, offering no contracts or plans at $75 or $85 per month. They will offer symmetric speeds (equal upload and download speeds), uncapped data, and no hidden charges. They plan to have their first fiber optic internet ring operational by the first quarter of 2023.
